The Music Department at the University of Texas at Arlington welcomes the first annual UTA Bassoon Week 2010. Assistant professor of Bassoon, Scott Pool and the music department have been planning the week long event, featuring the bassoon as a solo instrument. Participating in the faculty recital, pool said the UTA community can expect to hear rock n roll, jazz and funk music by American composers. In addtion to the faculty recital, UTA students and special guests from the Arlington community perform in a series of recitals and a bassoon workshop, mentoring student musicians from area middle and high schools completes bassoon week.
