Since 1982, the American Library Association has sponsored Banned Book Week to bring attention and awareness to banned or challenged books. This year, the UTA Library gave students, faculty, and staff a new way to share their favorite books with the world.
From ten AM to three PM, participants could go to the central library and make a two minute video in which they would read from a banned book. The videos were then uploaded to YouTube for all to see.
In addition to the readout, patrons could share their thoughts on banning and censorship on a comment board.
