On Wednesday night, seniors Lamarcus Reed, Bo Ingram and Bradley Gay walked off their home court for the last time as victors. The Mavs defeated the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islanders on senior night and capped off a perfect 8-0 campaign at home in conference. However, the Mavericks could not stay perfect Saturday night. UTA fell to UT San Antonio 97 to 88 and finished with an overall regular season record of 23-7. The Mavs will now travel to Katy, Texas for the State Farm Southland Conference Tournament. The number 1 seeded Mavericks will take on Nicholls State in their opener on Wednesday night at 6pm. The Mavericks have already secured an NIT berth, but can punch their ticket into the NCAA tournament with a Southland tournament championship.
