The Big Event is UT Arlington’s largest community service initiative serving the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Each year hundreds of students, faculty, staff andcommunity members lend a helping hand in various project sites. This year’s Big Event projects will be April 21 from 8 a.m. until noon. Volunteers help children at the Boys and Girls Club, clean up local parks and cheer on athletes in the Special Olympics. The Big Event volunteers start in the morning and end with a celebration in the Library Mall in the afternoon. They’re able to share with others their experiences as well as enjoy music, activites and a well deserves meal.
