The University of Texas at Arlington Army Reserve Officer Trainning Corps, UTA Army ROTC, has been an essential part in campus history. Its origins date back since 1902, established as the Carlisle Military Academy. For over 111 years, the Maverick Battalion has provided honor and history to maverick heritage. In 2013, the UTA Army ROTC is commited to bring back the “Jodies”; a drill team that specializes in military drill compettion. The UTA Army ROTC also engages in campus and civil community activities: As color guard for Mav events, veteran support, and charity events. Their motivation is always to look forward to give something back to the community.
