UTA Eats! Protein Smoothie


Forget those old protein bars and try something new!
On this week’s segment UTA Eats has your post work out meal after breaking a sweat!

Recipe: Serves 2

1 bag of Yoplait Smoothie (Chocolate and Banana)
1 Cup of Milk
1 Banana
1/2 Scoop of Protein (Chocolate flavored)

Directions: Pour the contents in smoothie bag and 1 cup of milk into the blender. Cut up the banana and toss into the blender. Add 1/2 scoop of protein into the blender. Blend 1-1 1/2 minutes or until smooth. Pour into your favorite maverick glasses and enjoy!

Former Dallas Cowboys player, Daryl Johnston joined Allie Woldtvedt to share his secrets to eating healthy and staying fit. Daryl Johnston, known as “The Moose”  is part owner of the new restaurant in the College Park District, The Smiling Moose Deli. Johnston says his deli has the healthiest choices with college budget prices.

UTA Eats! – Energizing Smoothie

Tired of drinking coffee to get that energizing boost? Well look no further with this week’s cooking demo called, the ”Energizing Smoothie!”
Chef Brenda teaches viewers how to make a delicious mango and banana smoothie. This smoothie provides the energy you need to keep you going throughout the day. It is a healthy alternative to coffee and/or other caffeinated drinks.

Chef Brenda also shows viewers quick shortcuts to making the energizing smoothie (ex. using mango juice instead of juicing mangos) to help fit a on-the-go lifestyle.

RECIPE (serves 2):

1 1/2 cup of orange juice
1 mango or 1 cup of mango juice
1 tsp lime juice
1 sliced banana
1/4 tsp ground ginger

Place orange juice, mango juice, lime juice, banana, and ginger in a blender and process until thoroughly combined. Pour the mixture into chilled glasses and serve immediately.
