Connect by Hertz Program

Two years ago UTA joined with Hertz rent-a-car and their ConnectbyHertz program.  The program offers students a rental car for a very affordable price.  Any UTA students can join the program by going to www.connectbyhertz.com. Rates range from $8.00 per hour to $62.00 a day.  Since the program the program began UTA has added over 600 members and are up to 4 cars available for rent.  After someone because a member of the program they simply have to goto the above website, schedule an appointment, slide your card across the windshield of the car, it unlocks, and the keys are inside ready to go.

Resolution 12-12

Student Congress is proposing a resolution to possible bring a football team to UTA.  An attempt was made in 2004 but was pushed aside in order to rennovate the Mavericks Activities and to build a special events center, both have now been completed. The resolution was proposed in February and has been being researched by the student affairs committee.  The argument is being made that since UTA has joined the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) there will more BCS money coming in and thus more money for the school.  Student Congress Parliamentarian and author of the resolution, Troy Boris, is confident the resolution will be put to a vote this semester.  For more information go to http://www.uta.edu/studentgovernance/
