UT Arlington Bait Bikes

The UTA Police Department has a bait bike program. Bait bikes are randomly placed in the various bike racks on campus. So far they have received positive results, and have caught some of the criminals in action. Some UTA students feel the creation of the program was a good idea; while, others feel that there should be protection for objects with greater value. UTA Police recommend the use of U- locks rather than chain or cable locks because the chain and cable locks can be broken. For more information on the bait bike program visit UTA’s website at http://www.uta.edu and search “bait bike”.
