CMAS Talks About Crimmigration to Students

The Center for Mexican-American Studies kicked off it’s first speakers series with Virginia Raymond, Immigration and Criminal Defense Lawyer, who came to UT-Arlington to talk to students about “Crimmigration: A form of State Violence.” Dr. Raymond explained to students what does Crimmigration means and how her work experience in Texas County Jails and Immigration Detention Centers has helped her understand how Undocumented Immigrants live and the problems they face. Students had the opportunity to talked to her and ask her questions individually. CMAS professors hope students took good information from this presentation to know how immigration is a global problem.
