Student Veteran Project receives donation

Military Times named UTA one of the best colleges for veterans in 2014. A $122,000 grant from JP Morgan Chase will help maintain this ranking by expanding the Student Veteran Project. Dr. Alexis Smith-Osborne of the School of Social Work founded the program in 2007 to increase the retention of student veterans. The grant money will be used to strengthen this program and hire peer advisers to support fifty new veteran students as they begin college this fall. The Student Veteran Project is one of several programs at UTA that support veterans in their studies.
