Organization embarks on Spring Break service trip

Alternative Breaks, a student organization in the Leadership Center, will travel to Denver, Colorado on March 8 for its annual Spring Break service trip. The 44 student participants will break into three teams that will serve children through PlayWorks Denver, teen moms through Florence Crittenton Services of Colorado and flood victims through Community Collaborations International. At the end of each day, students will reflect as a group in order to become more aware and more active as citizens. Jeong Lee, a site leader for Alternative Breaks, said the organization’s long-term goals are to become stronger and to add additional trips.
