UTA Bioengineers Developing Lung Repairing Inhalers

Inhalers are typically used for people who suffer from asthma or other bronchial problems. A team of bioengineers consisted of  graduate and PhD students are working on an inhaler that can help people suffering from major lung problems such as asthma. Dr. Kytai Nguyen, the associate professor behind this research, says they hope to eventually create an inhaler capable of regenerating parts of people’s lungs. The team also hopes that the ongoing project can eventually result in a cure for lung cancer. Dr. Nguyen is not only involved in the inhaler research, but also research with angioplasty.
