UTA Basketball ends first Sunbelt Conference season with loss

Pushing for a win to even their overall season stats and bring in their first win against University of Louisiana – Lafayette, the UT Arlington men’s basketball team’s season came to a close with a 91-85 loss.

The No. 6 UT Arlington Mavericks entered the quarterfinals of the Sunbelt Conference Championship Friday after Thursday’s first-round win over UL Monroe.
“We played well offensively, we just weren’t quite good enough defensively,” said Head Coach Scott Cross.
Four seniors played their final game for UTA: forward, Brandon Edwards, and guards Reger Dowell, Shaquille White-Miller, and Kyle McElvain.
UT Arlington’s in conference season ends with 10-10.
