Banned Books Week

Banned Books Week at UT Arlington is a celebration of the 1st Amendment and our freedom to read that was started by the American Library Association. Many of the past banned books students can find on their shelves at home. There are also a variety of children’s book that were once banned due to inappropriate or adult content. The importance of Banned Books Week is to show students that this is not just a thing of the past and that everyone should have a choice in reading what they want to read. To learn more about banned books, visit the American Library Association webpage at http://www.ala.org/bbooks.
