Students dive for a good cause

The cold temperatures didn’t stop this group of mavericks from celebrating the 5th Annual Polar Bear Plunge and the cause it is donating to. This year the Campus Recreation Center hosted the polar bear plunge in a effort to raise awareness for the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics is an opportunity for individuals with intellectual disabilities to discover their strengths and abilities through athletics. According to Marketing and Fitness Assistant, Sarah Ayala the Special Olympics is a cause that is “very close and dear” to the Campus Recreation Center’s heart. After plunging into cold water students were rewarded with a participation shirt for their donation. See the reactions of your fellow mavericks above.
