UTA Men’s Basketball kicked off their 2016-2017 season with a win. The perfect way to finish the annual Homecoming Week for the University. Star forward Kevin Hervey made his return onto the court after last years season ending knee injury.
Kaelon Wilson came off the bench in the first quarter after starter Drew Charles fouled twice within the first five minutes. Wilson would finish with 19 points, shooting 8 of 8 from the floor, a UTA single game record.
Jalen Jones and Kevin Hervey lead the charge in the second hold, holding off the tigers in an 89-82 victory. Hervey finished his homecoming night with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The team will have their first road trip against the University of Minnesota Monday Night and will be the first of three games in five nights on the road.
