The UTA Softball team played a three game series against South Alabama Jaguars over the weekend. The Mavericks started of the series with a double header on Friday. In game one, the game wasted 4-4 until freshman Reagan Wright hit a walk-off homerun defeat the Jags 5-4. In game two, senior Shelbi Sikes was the hero as her solo home run defeated South Alabama 8-7 in extra innings. In the series finale on Saturday saw the Jaguars defeat the Mavs 5-0. South Alabama pitcher Destin Vicknair had a complete game shut out and only allowed one hit. UTA returns to allan Saxe Fied to play Coastal Carolina for a three game series beginning on Saturday April 22.
