UTA has decided to make some adjustments to the parking lots across campus. Students can now expect a brighter and safer environment when walking to or from their car at night. Halide lights previously illuminated the lots but will now be replaced with LED lights that consume seventy percent less energy. Maintenance Operations and Special Projects Director, Jeff Johnson, says the objective to make the campus more sustainable will be achieved by reducing almost one million kilowatt hours per year and an annual savings of $52,000. The project has just begun but will soon be taking effect all throughout the University.
