Lady Mavs win First Ever Postseason game but Fall Short to TCU in Round 2 of WNIT

The UT Arlington Lady Mavs participated in the WNIT this past weekend. The Lady Mavs would host the first round game against Stephen F. Austin. UTA would go out to a quick start gaining up to a 13 point lead in the first half, but SFA would fight back and pull it to within two at halftime. UTA would late in the Fourth Quarter find a way to pull away to come out with a thriller 60-54 win in Round 1. Cierra Johnson put up 25 points and 5 steals in the big round 1 victory. Coach Gerlich also received her 100th win at UTA. In Round 2 of the WNIT UT Arlington came out slow trailing by 15 at halftime. They would recover and pull it to within four in the third quarter but never got any closer. UTA would fall 71-54 in the end. Cierra Johnson had a final tally of 23 points and five rebounds and Terryn Milton added 10 points. Katie Ferrell also had a big day on the glass grabbing 11 rebounds as well as adding five points.
