Global Grounds is an international coffee social that is put on by UTA’s Global Engagement department. Every semester students that come from all walks of life can be found, every Thursday, mingling with a drinks in hand. At this particular event, students from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Rusha, The European Union and here in the U.S., who have never met each other, gathered together to talk over drinks and snacks. This semester, Fahad Aboosally heads up the event and loves bringing students of different cultures together in one spot. Aboosally says he likes talking to students about different interests and hobbies. If meeting new people at UTA sounds interesting you can find them in the University Center every Thursday during the Fall and Spring Semesters.
