Focus Welcomes Grant Daniels

On Tuesday, the Photographic Fine Arts Association (Focus) welcomed local wedding photographer, Grant Daniels. Not only did Daniels provided an insight in his roots of becoming a photographer, but he also answered any questions that the members had pertaining to his work.

Texas Mission of Mercy: Abilene 2015

Students at The University of Texas at Arlington’s Pre-Dental Society traveled 2 1/2 hours in harsh weather from UTA to the Abilene Civic Center to aid Texas Mission of Mercy- an organization dedicated to helping those in need of free dental care. The event was held in Abilene, Texas, and allowed members to interact with dentist and get a hands on approach in the field of dentistry.

Over $559,000 worth of dental care was provided to over 686 patients in the Abilene area, according to a Facebook post from Texas Mission of Mercy.

The Power of Phones

It was over 8 years ago when the first iPhone came out. While cameras on that phone was poor, today phones have becomes a powerful camera for keeping everyone connected. But how powerful is the modern day smartphone? I explore the true capabilities of smartphones in the film and photography discipline.

Story shot and edited entirely on iPhones. iMovie for iOS was selected for editing on an iPhone 6.

A Fighter with Purpose: Joel Gonzalez Feature

To most, Joel Gonzalez is a sophomore that works hard in everything that he does. However, most don’t see the full extent of his fighting side. Along with participating in both boxing and Brazilian jiu jitsu, Joel is a full time student at The University of Texas at Arlington. He not only boxes to keep himself fit in both mind and body, but does it for what is most important to his life, his family.

UTA Jazz Orchestra

On September 27, 2015, the UTA Jazz Orchestra performed for the Arlington community at the Levitt Pavilion.The concert featured Stefan Karlsson and other guests with the Jazz Orchestra. Preparation to the event occurred throughout the week, which concluded with the performance Sunday evening.
